Designer Jeans
Today, we give an interview TheJeansBlog had with Fidelity Denim designer Jason Trotzuk. Loyalty is a big
premium denim brand in Canada, and began struggling in the U.S. for some time now, with many celebrity fans.
Blogger: So tell us about loyalty. Why would people buy a pair of Fidelity's if they are die hard fans of
brands such as Rock & Republic and 7 for all mankind?
Jason: Fidelity women's luxury jeans brand for contemporary modern woman. Focusing on the three F's ...
fabrics, fit and finish. Fidelity is using the best materials, blends seamlessly and surprisingly complete.
We are committed to making the best designer jeans
on the market. Fidelity Men's ... "Modern day original" ... based on 3 F principal, but the "original" Blue
Jeans "man. A classic denim jean for the true holder .... Vintage wash and detail, nothing flashy ... NE
decked pockets or crazy stitch detail, just a great reward fitting jeans. Why would people buy a pair of
Fidelity's over other brands? There are so many high-end denim market has been based on the hype ... All
fluff and no foundation. Fidelity's focus is always on the customer and create an incredible and timeless
jeans ... End of story ... We focus on doing things exactly where others blamed ... Details on the fabric
and fit and finish, where others fall short ...
DB: We hear Fidelity is known for its shape. Give us some pointers on picking the right type of jeans for
your body type, style Fidelity you recommend our readers to try?
Jason: All of our styles / fits made to the ... whether everyday fashion jeans or jeans, we have many
different fits, but here are some basics: Hyacinth - 5 pocket trouser jeans ... wide leg mid rise ...
suits all body types ... and always stylish! Sass and Bide Mid-Rise Boot Cut ... Cut the most versatile
women's ... Belladonna mean increase rise@8.5 perfect, "the thigh is slimming and the boot cut open to
allow for elegant and casual occasions. LUX - flare, Do some damage with this cut ... clean tailored
details of 5-Pocket Jean with a long lean flare. Again, there are many bodies too numerous to mention,
but our specialty is our fit ... many customers swear by our "built" quality and Fidelity was coined as
the "butt bra Jean.
DB: Can anyone wear skinny jeans or only need the smaller size of women go there?
Jason: I think everyone can wear skinny sass and bide jeans...
If the designer knows how to properly cut the shape of your feet ... thin it can fit anyone ...
that's what makes it different Fidelity skinnies ... I think the more lean and accessories that go with
your top and shoes or boots ... sure there are a toothpick women can wear them any way imaginable.
DB: What do you see as the next big style in denim for 2008/2009? ie, whether still in skinnies, or we
will keep the high rise wide leg styles, or something else?
Jason: I think the brand will be the next big style ... We bounced around the fashion map, low, high, thin,
wide ... the next great style at Sass and Bide can be high low skinny broad way things are going ... ha ha.
It is time to go back to basics ... not in terms of style, but in the sense that it clearly captures the
quintessential look and feel of the jeans. A good brand designs for your client, and if his focus is always
customer then you will never go out of style and will always be relevant! Having said all that ... if I was
to pick up a great look for Fall '08 .... That would be a lean mean classic and clean straight legs!
DB: Do you see a brighter color jeans are becoming big in the denim industry for 2008/2009? This is what we
are hearing, put back in the 1990's. And what a brightly colored denim - this trend has come and gone?
Jason: You forget that when the colored denim back in the early 90's, it was cheap! Everyone is trying to
bring it back and it is never held, if it is cheap and disposable colored denim I think has a chance ...
I'd rather not see pinstripes and denim trouser looks in the fashion market ... that is always hot!
Brightly colored denim ... hmmm, no!
DB: Is premium denim all about fit and fabric or logo on the pockets?
Jason: It's all up, anyone can find a jean maker in LA and have them produce high rates Jean (trust me,
almost everyone does) ... this is not a high end! There are only a handful of large denim designers.
Design of the denim is very complicated and a good designer denim must spend the same amount of time as a
designer sportswear collection that combines fashion ... challenge is to put right with the right denim
wash, with the right topstitch, with the right packaging, with the right pocket to the right fit, etc ...
and this is just one style ... Now do it for 80 more styles .... designer who has mastery over all aspects
of the real designer denim!
DB: Why would someone who is used to buy cheaper to try a couple of Fidelity denim jeans? I do not
necessarily equal better quality premium denim?
Jason: Premium full should mean better quality, better fit, better opera, better fabrics, better detail,
better hardware, better everything ... all these things go on premiums Jean .... Reduce all corners mean
a compromise in quality. Fabric suppliers always send me a cheaper version of high end jeans tell me it's
exactly the same ... and it is never! It never fit the same, it never washes well, it never looks the same ...
DB: What is your favorite style for both men and women's Fidelity?
Jason: Men's: My favorite style is the Slim Jim, it's lean, mean, and that will kick your ass if you do
not watch it.
Female from many styles, Hyacinth 5-pocket wide is still my favorite. It looks great on anyone ... Always
classic never out of style.
DB: What celebs are now big fans of Fidelity Jeans?
Jason: Some of the names are Heidi Montag, Blake Lively, Kristen Cavalleri, Eva Longoria, Demi Moore,
Virginia Madsen, Debra Messing, Vanessa Minillo, Susie Castillo, Victoria Recano and tons of others.
DB: What online store our readers can pick up a pair of Fidelity's in?
Jason: Check out our website - FidelityDenim.com online and retail stores, but TheDenimLoft.com has a
great selection.
DB: What brands other than Fidelity may have a place in - What are your favorites?
Jason: Levi's ... Where it all began, they were "old original" and loyalty to "New Script".
DB: How to care for your readers premium denim? Do you go for a month without washing yours
like some people do?
Jason: Wash them sparingly ... cold water wash, hand to dry .... Dry clean is also an option.
